Hi Everybody
Seems like I'm forever trying to encourage you to garden, doesn't it? Sitting here at my computer I decided to spare you my favorite subject and discuss something different, yet somehow I ended right back in gardening when Rolf popped in to tell me that a friend, Deanna K., was visiting here at the shop. So I jumped up and ran out to visit with her, and naturally we started talking about how much we love gardening. Here's something she said that really resonated:
"I'm happiest when I'm just puttering around in my garden. Whatever I go out to do, I never end up doing."--Deanna
I want you to enjoy gardening and its benefits as much as Deanna and I do. While work gives us a source of identity, meaning and structure to our lives, the downside is that sometimes we feel pressured. To some, gardening is just another form of work, but isn't it nice to know the except for the weekly mowing, there's no pressure to do the rest? The garden will just take care of itself (perhaps not the way you envisioned, but it will be ok). That's why you can enter the garden with a goal in mind and, like Deanna, end up plesantly distracted by another garden task. And, like Deanna, that's when you enjoy gardening the most.
The Nelson Staff patronizes a bakery here in Katy where we are treated in the nicest possible way. The manager there is hands-on and her staff is without fail pleasant and friendly. This bakery is part of a chain, and there is another one in the franchise much closer to Nelson's where the service is adequate at best. So here's the point; we take the extra time and effort to patronize the more distant bakery because of the outstanding service. We hope you feel the same about us. We know many of you can shop at closer nurseries but we hope you think we are worth the extra effort and gas to visit us.
Happy Spring from anita
